Give a duck a hand

Help 130 ducks and geese move to a new (and much improved) home! The animals are being rescued from a school where they have been neglected and left without food, water or shelter. The school has agreed to give the ducks and geese to a sanctuary, however volunteers are needed to help catch and load the birds onto transport vehicles.

THE RESCUE IS TAKING PLACE THIS SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 16th at 6:30 a.m. at John R. Wooden High School 18741 Elkwood Street Reseda, CA 91335. If you can help, please call Jennifer MacDowell at 818-605-1186. Thank you!

pfw note: It's probably not mandatory that you have prior waterfowl handling experience, although it surely can't hurt when you're helping neglected, frightened animals prepare for transport to a home with proper food, shelter, and the medical care we know they will need to recover and thrive. And while we'd certainly qualify this as "hands-on experience...," well, you know the drill and your mileage will vary.
